We are excited to start our trip today. A long day of travel awaits.

Seattle – Amsterdam – Budapest. Approximately 22 hours door to door.

Our niece Becky will be giving us a ride to the airport. It will be Friday afternoon (Day 14 of summer vacation) when we arrive in Budapest, Hungary, where my sister will be waiting for us. From there, possibly after a few days, we will be continuing to Slovakia, to my little village of Pozba.

Fun fact: On this day in 2009, we were amazed by blue footed boobies on Espanola Island in the Galápagos.
