Reading, baking, and walking in nature. Satisfying fifth day of my summer break.

Started reading Stephen King’s modern classic, Carrie. “The story of misunderstood high school girl Carrie White, her extraordinary telekinetic powers, and her violent rampage and revenge, remains one of the most barrier-breaking and shocking novels of all time.” – according to Goodreads. I have a feeling that I will finish this short novel in no time.

Work has finally begun on the new deck.

Baked a delicious apple cake. I had a piece of this cake for the first time at a Bed & Breakfast in Colorado on our trip during this year’s spring break. It was so good; I had to ask for the recipe from the owners. (Stay tuned for the Jewish Apple Cake post.)

Had a nice afternoon walk with a good friend and former colleague around Green Lake. It was wonderful to catch up with you, Judy! Thanks for allowing me to use our photo on this blog.
