After spending two days on a boat and sleeping in a tiny cabin when we visited Komodo National Park, we found ourselves in a luxury resort. What a change! Unfortunately, only for one afternoon and one night.
The AYANA Komodo is located on Labuan Bajo’s Waecicu Beach on Flores island, which is one of the most scenic islands of the Indonesian Archipelago. We learned from our guide that this resort was the first 5-star luxury resort in the region.
We got a comfortable room with an impressive ocean view. We could sit on our private balcony enjoying the scenery.
The room’s decoration was inspired by the island’s rustic beauty. The contemporary marble bathroom had a soaking tub and a modern shower, plus a see-through window (with a curtain). Crisp white linens on our bed and signature AYANA robes and slippers added to the homey feeling.
The resort had stylish open spaces with colorful tropical landscaping. The many beautiful flowers added to the ambiance of the place.
We had an amazing dinner at one of their restaurants.
At breakfast time, incredible variety of delicious food was available: freshly baked goods, egg dishes, a variety of fruits, cereal and yogurts, even soup with noodles – just to mention some. There was a vegetarian corner and a waffle and pancake station too. The food was so tastefully presented that it was hard to choose what we wanted to eat.
During our short stay in this beautiful place, we fully enjoyed the comfort and the well needed relaxation!
