Quinoa with sautéed mushrooms & cheese – Quinoa pirított gombával és sajttal
For a quick and delicious lunch, I often choose one of my favorite gluten free grains, quinoa. This time I served it with sautéed crimini mushrooms and goat cheese, resulting in an overall great flavor. I adapted the recipe from Heidi Swanson’s wonderful book Super Natural Cooking.
Thought on problems – Gondolat a problémákról
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” — Albert Einstein
Chocolate chunk brownies – Csokis brownie
This dessert is a classic. Deliciousness is guaranteed. The recipe is from Frame-by-Frame Baking, a visual step-by-step cookbook from the British series Love Food. But even without these kinds of illustrative photos, the making of these brownies is incredibly easy.
Books, stories, and recipes – Könyvek, történetek és receptek
For me, reading is an essential and beloved activity. It has always been and it always will be. I used to read a lot as a kid, as a teenager often late into the night, as a college student on crowded streetcars and buses, juggling the book in one hand and holding on to the rail with the other. I still do – all of the above. My days don’t feel complete unless they are finished with reading.
November light – Novemberi fény
Framed autumn – Bekeretezett ősz
Sometimes we just view the world through a window. November in our garden. Néha a világot csak ablakon keresztül látjuk. November a kertünkben.
Thought on a mathematician – Gondolat a matamatikusról
“A mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems.” — Paul Erdős
My yarn basket – A kötőkosaram
Knitting has been one of my favorite hobbies for a long time. I started with easy projects – like scarves – and moved on to knit hats, pullovers, sweaters, vests, a skirt, mittens, a doll, even a blanket. There was a time in my life when I knitted with great intensity, then other interests took over, and knitting got abandoned a little bit.
Quick kohlrabi and apple slaw – Gyors almás karalábésaláta
Kohlrabi is one of my favorite vegetables. Paired with apples, a quick slaw – full of vitamins – can be created from it. It’s refreshing and crunchy, simple and very delicious on its own, or as a side dish.
Leafy carpets – Levélszőnyegek
Wind and rain, late October and early November, and you have a perfect recipe for a thin or thicker, yellow, brown, red, or multicolor, crunchy and shiny, or wet and sticky formation on horizontal surfaces. I call them leafy carpets.
Classical pancakes – Klasszikus amerikai palacsinta
It’s probably safe to say that for many people – especially in America – pancakes belong to the category of favorite breakfast foods. In any season.
