At the end of our Australian trip, we visited the town of Nanango and its surroundings, including the Bunya Mountains, in the south-east of the state of Queensland. We spent three lovely days there with our friends.

Australia’s third largest city with its gorgeous river views is a pleasant place that we liked very much. We spent four days here, the capital of Queensland. Despite its size, it surprised us with its lush greenery, beautiful parks, public art, the mixture of old and modern architecture, and its holiday vibe.

Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Area for its natural and cultural values. In 1987, it got recognized for its “spectacular geological formations, rare plants and animals, and exceptional natural beauty,” then in 1994, for its “cultural landscape” (traditional belief systems).

We were now in Australia’s Northern Territory ready for exploring the Red Center – as part of a group tour. We began with Kings Canyon on the first day, and continued with Kata Tjuta and Uluru on the second.

A unique and unforgettable experience awaited us on one of the world’s most renowned rail journeys. We traveled The Ghan, the Red Center Explorer, which is running in the heart of Australia, connecting the northern and southern points of the country.

In the fourth largest state of Australia, on the Fleurieu Peninsula, we visited lovely places we never heard about before. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches of the Southern Ocean, the small towns, and the stunning landscapes.

We visited a natural wonder of Western Australia today, the spectacular Wave Rock, granite shaped by water. It gave the impression that the earth was twisting.

Feeding kangaroos, photographing koalas and wombats, sandboarding, seeing and eating lobster, admiring the Indian Ocean, exploring the unique and fascinating formations of the Pinnacles Desert – all these, plus more, were the happenings of the day. Let’s see the details!

Today we traveled south from Perth to explore Western Australia’s Margaret River region that is famous for its natural beauty, wineries, forests, caves, and unspoiled coastline.

This island, a nature conservation area, is located not far away (33 kilometers) from Perth. It’s a special and popular destination because of its stunning white-sand beaches, picturesque scenery, but mainly because of its dwarf marsupials, the quokkas.

We made it to Perth, to the capital city of Western Australia! This city with its 2.3 million people (out of 2.8 million in Western Australia) is the fourth biggest in the country. Despite the large population, the city ranks highly on the global livability index.

Life on one of the most famous trains in the world for four days and three nights, all meals and all drinks included. Not a bad way of experiencing a unique part of Australia!
